All about... moi!

Firstly, and most importantly, I love treats. Cookies, doughnuts... if I see 'em, I'll eat 'em.

After completing the Graphic Design and Illustration Program at Capilano College in
North Vancouver, B.C., I immediately set out on my graphics journey.

My first business was started with my sister Sorrel, which we called William Meek Design.
We operated out of an existing postal outlet as a store front graphics shop. Our projects
included corporate identity, brochure, and catalogue design.

Following William Meek Design I worked for a year as an in-house graphic designer for Northern Gifts, Ltd., a stuffed animal manufacturing company. I was responsible for package, catalogue, hangtag, and web design. While I swore it wouldn't happen when I started, I reluctantly confess to now own quite the collection of stuffed animals...

In 2002, I started up Graphic Byte Design. This has been my bread and butter (or, Cookies and Doughnuts, if you will) ever since. The range of clients I have worked with has offered me an exciting array of experience with varying projects.

In 2003, for example, I created a web site for WowPost Ltd. At WowPost I also
designed over 80 sample postcards targeted at the optometry market. This was a
terrific opportunity to work with a new product, and it opened me up to the Wonderful World of the Web (www).

Since 2003, I have created many web sites. My current project includes keeping BonnevueManor.com current, as well as working on a real estate site for a large company. I'm also helping my parents sell their house, so I'm doing a lot of painting... and not the fine art kind.

Fun stuff

There's more to me than just cookies!

I am an avid cyclist, often seen riding through the streets of Vancouver with a look of glee on my face (see self-portrait above). I play badminton about once a week, and am currently in search of a squash partner. Any takers?

I donate to several charities on a monthly basis, including my favourites, Foster Parents Plan of Canada, and the Vancouver Crisis Centre (where my brother Seth works).

I am fluent in written and spoken English, and have done most or all of the copywriting for many of the web sites
I have designed (www.PinkPoppie.com, www.BonnevueManor.com, and www.IslandChefCanadienne.com).
I have a working knowledge of French, which has been helpful when a project calls for implementation of
French versions for various materials (see "retail catalogues").
